With a goal to keep Rhode Island residents and their properties safe from the hurricane season , founder and president Carol Dancer began the research and development stage in her garage in 2008 . At her friends ’ homes , she tested what would become the award-winning Flood Bags and Flood Barriers , landing her first patent and the launch of Quick Dam into the consumer market .
