Brandon Hixson is a worship leader, songwriter, saxophonist and producer from Cedar Hill, Texas. He has been actively involved in music for over 10 years. He was the lead vocalist and co-founder of the Christian outfits, Godfueled and Splendorleaf. Brandon has written and produced five albums between 2006 and 2010. The Christian Radio and Retail Weekly has selected six of Brandon’ s compositions as singles. His second single,“ What’ s In This Love” charted at # 5 in April 2008 and became the 13th most played independent single for the year on Christian Radio. Brandon was nominated as“ Male-Vocalist of the Year” in 2006 and in 2007 for the prestigious Momentum Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. His band, Godfueled, was nominated as“ Worship Artist of the Year” in 2006. His single,“ Prayer of Wings” received“ Song of the Year” nominations for the Momentum Awards in 2007. His latest single,“ Only by His Grace” was selected by the Texas Christian Songwriters Association as one of the ten best compositions
for 2010. Brandon has been able to achieve a lot of his musical ambitions. He
has played all styles of music from Rock to Country – from Southern Gospel to Jazz. His music has been featured alongside some of the greatest Artists in Christian music, Wayne Watson, Point of Grace, Switchfoot, Mitch McVicker and Rhonda Gunn to name a few.
Brandon is the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas where he and his wife Karen reside. The couple has two children, Caleb and Caylin. Brandon has started his Master’ s Degree at DBU where he is studying Worship Leadership. Brandon released a personal project titled,“ My Heart’ s Melody” in December 2009.
On stage since age 7, Joel has performed vocally and instrumentally in venues from the Majestic Theater to Mardi Gras and from Branson to Hollywood. As a music major at Southwestern Assemblies of God University, he trained in voice as well as jazz and classical guitar. Joel picked up the bass more than 20 years ago and it quickly became his instrument of choice. He has studied guitar and bass with some of the top teachers in the country. Accomplished on 5 string electric and upright acoustic, Joel anchors the bottom end of Racing Gravity, while contributing original compositions and tenor vocals.
Joel has played on multiple CD projects and off-Broadway musicals as well as in Jazz, R & B, Swing, Country, Blues, Rock, Variety and Gospel bands and ensembles. Joel has added his sound to a number of bands throughout the years including the vocal trio Pure Desire, rock recording artist Jason Davis of the Jason Davis Project, country recording artist Tommy Snyder and Christian bluesman Brian Howard. He released an instrumental CD in 2007 with jazz band Patton Leather Rhythm.
Joel lives in Desoto TX with LaVonda, his wife of 25 years and 4 children. His day job is at Diamond Voice Messaging and Information, a small family-owned telecommunications services company.
