married the man who acts the most like Jesus. I have never met a person who lives out the love of Christ as much as Mark. Marks twin brother, Michael Wise, has also been a huge help to me. He is currently the lead Pastor at Stonebridge Church in Findlay, OH. Michael was the lead singer of the band Right Side Cast, a modern rock band. Mark was the bass player and their youngest brother Travis Rankin was the guitar player. Prior to Right Side Cast they had been in a gospel family band called the Wisemen. Michael taught me most of the technical and equipment side of being in a band. Q4: What are some of the highlights of your career so far? I have published The Christian Band Guidebook and done most of the things you would expect anyone in the music industry to do such as promoting many concerts, performed solo and been in bands, managed and owned coffeehouses etc. But, the highlights of my career have been watching bands I work with succeed. Sometimes that means they learn how to book more shows or perform with greatly improved stage presence. Other times it means that bands work through relationship issues rather than breaking up or smaller things such as filing taxes correctly. Success is not always playing on the big stage. Success is doing what God has called you to do, the way He wants it done, and when He wants it accomplished. I am successful when the bands I help move closer to their success. Q5: Have you received any special awards or achievements? No, I try to stay out of the limelight and keep the attention on the bands and musicians. Q6: Do you have any special events, shows / gigs coming up? No. I am focusing almost exclusively on writing my next book: The Christian Musicians Devotional, so I have not planned any events. Q7: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 or 10 years? I hope to have more one on one contact with Christian musicians and bands. Lately my work has been primarily limited to e-mails and social media. After I finish writing The Christian Musicians Devotional, my focus will shift to live events. Q8: What would you like your legacy to be? I would like to be remembered as the person who loved Jesus so much that she laid down her life to help Christian bands create extraordinary music ministries. These bands will have ministries that bring people closer to Jesus. Q9: Do you have other interests? What services does your company offer? I love the ministry of art in all it's forms: literary, performance, visual. I also love to remodel homes and garden. My company offers ChristianBandHelp.com, a website designed to give wise guidance for extraordinary music ministries to Christian bands and soloists. Christian musicians can contact me at [email protected] with questions or for advice. The Christian Band Guidebook is available on Amazon or Here: http://christianbandhelp.com/christian-band-guidebook/. We also offer limited consulting and speak at events with Christian Bands (such as fests and Battle of the Bands). God has something for you to do. No one else can do it. So, get out there and start. You are not going to get it all right, you are going to make mistakes. But, you will grow and learn through the process. You will have the most extraordinary adventures and change the world forever when you trust God to work through you! Christian Band Help 18
