LIFETIME MEMBER AWARD
Lifetime Membership Award
Tony Casey
Dr. Tony Casey served as Executive Director of JCDDRB from 1980-2003. Tony is a
strong advocate for quality programs and built them in Jefferson County. He has been
an influence and mentor for many people who, like Tony, advocate for quality programs.
Tony has always been there for fellow Directors willing to share how he has developed
services. I think Mike Kelsey said it best when he told me “Tony is quietly establishing
effective services and supports for individuals rarely drawing attention to himself but
rather highlighting the great work agencies and staff in Jefferson County do for people
with developmental disabilities.” After retiring from his Executive Director leadership
position, Tony continues to work towards meeting needs as a member of the JCDDRB
Board of Directors.

Since 1987, march has been designated de-
velopmental disability awareness Illustrated
month by
across the united states to recognize the
accomplishments of individuals with devel-
opmental disabilities. This year the develop-
mental disability awareness month poster &
bookmark design was a collaboration of four
young designers, two with developmental
disabilities, from the art inspired academy
in springfield, missouri. Their entry was a
photo of children with and without disabil-
ities, displaying their unique masterpiece.
