How old were you when you decided you wanted to work in tree care ? I was eighteen years old .

What was your first paying job in the tree care industry ? Olde Colonial Tree and Landscape . I knew less than nothing ! Jay Ippolito was a great mentor .
Who has influenced you most when it comes to how you approach your work ? How have they influenced you ? Obviously Jay Ippolito , Paul Walker from Mount Auburn Cemetery and so many great mentors from my time at Hartney Greymont . They taught me everything I know .
What energizes you at work ? Helping younger people in the industry . And I enjoy helping people with their plants !

Favorite Product ? Manual of Woody Landscape Plants by Michael A . Dirr
Favorite Technology / app ? iTunes !
What ’ s your favorite plant or tree ? Why ? I could give a dozens of answers but I have to choose Tupelo . It ’ s a great native tree with amazing fall color . It is under-used in general but it ’ s especially great as an urban tree .
Best book you ever read ? To Kill a Mockingbird
Top destination on your must-see list ? Redwood Forest
Favorite season ? Summer
Mountain , lake or ocean ? Ocean
What would we most likely find you doing on your day off ? Working in my yard . Lame but true !
What ’ s one thing you ’ re learning now ? Why is it important ? I work with our website and marketing people to provide content . It is interesting to learn how their business works . And it ’ s important because it can really help with sales .
What ’ s the best advice you were ever given ? Everyone tells me to be a better listener . I ’ m still not doing so well !
If you didn ’ t go into tree care , what would you be doing instead ? I ’ d be a homeless person in Key West .
