WHERE THE BEST IN THE TREE CARE INDUSTRY COME TOGETHER
Arboriculture Learning Center – Momentum is Growing!
The MAA, in strategic partnership with The Trustees, has launched of a $ 300,000 fundraising campaign to renovate an historic Carriage House at Millborn Farm into a dedicated Arboriculture Learning Center( ALC), a modest, purpose-built educational space designed to serve the profession for decades to come.
The ALC will be a shared classroom and training hub where:
• Arborists earn credentials and prepare for exams Safety, workforce, and apprenticeship training takes place
• Research and applied learning occur in partnership with UMass and Stockbridge
• Best practices are taught consistently, professionally, and locally
This is not a major event venue or a commercial rental space. It is a focused, mission-driven learning environment.
How the Partnership Works Millborn Farm is owned and overseen by The Trustees, who will continue to operate, maintain, and insure the property. MAA’ s role is to invest in the educational build-out of the space and to steward its use in alignment with our educational and stewardship mission. In return:
• The ALC will be available for MAA-sponsored education, training, and exams
• Trustees staff will have the opportunity to attend MAA training events
• The profession gains a permanent home for learning and advancement
MAA does not operate the facility and will not profit from its use.
A question we hear often is whether member firms will be allowed to use the ALC. The answer is yes. Conceptually, MAA members may be approved to use the ALC for educational and workforce development purposes with guidelines that are currently under development. Details are forthcoming.
Why We Are Asking for Your Support Your contribution helps to creates the physical foundation for education, safety, and professionalism in Massachusetts arboriculture. This campaign does not fund ongoing MAA operations.
Simply put: This is an investment in people, standards, and the future of the profession.
We are seeking leadership support from donors who believe that arborists deserve a permanent, well-governed place to learn and grow.
We welcome the opportunity to speak with members directly about the ALC, the partnership with The Trustees, and how donations can make this vision a reality. Please reach out to MAA at admin @ MassArbor. org or call( 508) 653-3320.
