TIPS FOR MCA EXAM SUCCESS Upcoming Events
We asked Maren Gunning , MCA and Cailley Culotta , MCA , who just passed their exams in April , for their tips for exam success !
1 . Start early . Begin to study at least 6-8 weeks before your exam . Giving yourself plenty of time will reduce your stress !
2 . Use online resources . Check Quizlet . com where you can access study resources that others have already made , such as flash cards and practice tests . Take advantage of them !
3 . Take handwritten notes . This helps you recall what you ’ ve learned , and you can use these notes to refresh your memory before the exam .
4 . Don ’ t skim . Some sections of reading are longer than others , but there will be more questions on those longer sections . Read everything carefully .
5 . Plan to do the ID first on exam day . Getting the ID out of the way allows you to focus on the multiple choice ( which will probably take you longer ).

MCA OVERVIEW
Another preparation tool available to exam candidates is the MCA Overview . Registration for both the SCIENCE and TECH- NIQUES webinars is open at MassArbor . org . Each webinar is approximately 1.5 hours long and outlines the key points in each Study Guide chapter and BMP manual . This is a great way to spot-check your preparation . ($ 24 members / $ 44 non-members for each webinar )

In addition to the required MCA Study Guide , the BMP manuals are essential for full preparation . They can be obtained through ISA and TCIA – instructions for ordering these are at the MCA Study Guide section of the website – or borrow them from a colleague .
