President ' s Message
Hello MAA Members ,
Summer is here and tree work is still going strong , which is a good thing . Hopefully , you can all find ways to slow down a bit , relax , and spend time with family and friends .
One of the highlights of the past few months for me was presenting Jay Ippolito with the VISTA award . It was great to see so many people come out to honor Jay and all his accomplishments . I was able to spend time getting to know Jay ’ s wife and kids . What a terrific bunch – you can tell those apples don ’ t fall far from the tree .
I ’ m looking forward to MAA ’ s Fall Field Day coming up on September 25 . Co-hosted with the MALP , this event has grown into a very popular chance to get together , check out the latest trends , and make new connections . It ’ s definitely a “ must-attend ” gathering of industry professionals .
When asked what I enjoy most about being involved with the MAA , I always say it ’ s the people . MAA members are people of great character who are always willing to share knowledge and experiences . Perhaps you ’ ve thought about volunteering with the MAA ? If you ’ re interested in getting involved , please reach out . There are many chances to lend a hand including Arbor Day of Service , MCA Program , Education , Legislation – just let us know what you ’ re interested in .
Finally , after many years , Dennis Ryan is stepping down as MAA ’ s representative to the Z133 Committee and we couldn ’ t be more grateful to him . He has made countless contributions to safety , training , competitions , and education . I ’ m sure you all join me in thanking Dennis for his many years of service to our industry and our association . When I called to thank him for his service he said , “ As soon as I hang up this phone , I am officially retired !”. So , thank you Dennis . Enjoy your much-deserved retirement and know how much your commitment has meant to all of us .
