What would we most likely find you doing on your day off ? If I ’ m on land , finding a place to swim – in a pond , lake , ocean , pool .
What ’ s one thing you ’ re learning now ? Why is it important ? I ’ m learning about the world ’ s arboreal forests , which comprise the planet ’ s greatest carbon sink after the world ’ s oceans .
What ’ s the best advice you were ever given ? Who was it from ? My great-uncle advised doing what you can to hold onto a sense of wonder .
If you didn ’ t go into tree care , what would you be doing instead ? Maybe psychotherapy or medicine . But I ’ m fortunate to do what I do .
VISTA Award to be presented at April 25 Meeting

The VISTA award is the most important honor the association can bestow upon one of its members . It was conceived to recognize truly outstanding tree care professionals whose acts and deeds serve as a guide and challenge for all members of the industry . The award ’ s title is an acronym for Vision , Integrity , Service , Talent , and Action – the leadership qualities inherent in all award recipients .

MAA Safety Webinar : Electrical Hazard Awareness

complete the follow up quizzes by March 31 . Additional employer-verified proof of aerial rescue training and CPR / First Aid are required to fully meet OSHA ’ s EHAP certification standards .
The webinar provides Electrical Hazard Awareness education in three 1-hour sessions . Completion of the course satisfies one major OSHA requirement for arborists working 10 feet or closer to energized conductors .
