MAA Scholarships Awarded
At the virtual UMass Tree Conference on March 4 , MAA president , Russell Holman presented two scholarship awards to UMass students .
Dennis Ryan Outstanding Arboriculture Student – June Moulis
Gordon & Frances King Scholarship – Keely Zuber
After graduating from Bristol County Agricultural High School and Paul Smith College , Keely is now pursuing a bachelor ’ s degree at UMass . She is majoring in Natural Resource Conservation with a concentration in Urban Forestry and Arboriculture . As an intern at Bartlett Tree Experts , she took a great interest in tree risk assessment and plans to become certified to work in that sector of the industry . “ Everything I have learned has only fostered a desire to learn more , and I eagerly look forward to continuing this progress throughout my career in arboriculture ,” said Keely . She received a $ 1000 scholarship award from the MAA .

June Moulis , 2025 MAA / MTWFA Scholarship winner , and her daughters .
The MAA and the MTWFA joined forces to present a $ 1000 scholarship to June Moulis , a senior at UMass majoring in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry . The faculty at UMass nominated June to receive this prestigious award , which is a testament to her academic achievement . When we notified June and asked her to send us photos she said , “ This is truly an honor , and I am beyond grateful for the support of your organizations in helping me succeed on my college journey . A few photos include my daughters since they are my inspiration for going back to school . Sharing my love of trees with them is my greatest joy .”
