The session focused on reviewing a broad range of proposed bills for the 2025-2026 legislative session . After careful analysis , the group assigned priority levels to key initiatives , ensuring strategic advocacy efforts . Moving forward , GIA ’ s engagement will include written and verbal testimony at public hearings , as well as direct meetings with lawmakers to shape policies that impact our industry .
A Stronger Alliance : CCLA Joins the GIA
We ’ re pleased to welcome the Cape Cod Landscape Association ( CCLA ) to the GIA ! With many proposed regulations originating from Cape Cod , their involvement strengthens our collective voice . CCLA joins our coalition of allied associations , including MAA , the Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals , the Massachusetts Association of Lawn Care Professionals , and the Golf Course Superintendents of New England . Together , we ’ re making a greater impact than ever before .
Strengthening Relationships : Host a Legislator
When State Senator Rebecca Rausch visited Harrison McPhee in Millis in December , it proved to be an invaluable opportunity to showcase our industry ’ s contributions and environmental stewardship . Building strong relationships with policymakers is crucial . We encourage MAA member companies to host local lawmakers at their facilities — offering them firsthand insight into our industry ’ s commitment to sustainability , preservation , and responsible tree care . If you can host a visit , please reach out and we ’ ll help make the arrangements .
Get Involved : Volunteer for GIA Representation
Want to make a difference ? We ’ re looking for dedicated MAA members to represent our industry within the GIA . The commitment is minimal — just four virtual meetings per year — but the impact is significant . As a representative , you ’ ll help shape policies that support our profession . If you ’ re interested in serving , reach out to the MAA , and we ’ ll provide the details .
