Hello MAA Members ,
Here at the office , we are moving into our favorite month of the year – April ! This month starts off with a packed MCA exam , and ends with the VISTA award presentation and our celebration of Arbor Day of Service . All three events exemplify what makes MAA such a great organization – professionalism , achievement and collegiality !
The MCA exam on April 4 & 5 is always an exciting two days as we witness arborists earning their MCA designation . Even those who do not pass at this April exam date are demonstrating their commitment to the profession and to their own growth as an arborist . We applaud everyone who comes through the door to sit for the test and are hopeful for great outcomes .
We are truly looking forward to this year ’ s VISTA award presentation to our good friend Jay Ippolito , MCA , MCLP . Anyone who knows Jay already knows what a kind-hearted man he is and how much he has given to his industry and to the association over the years . I hope to see many members in attendance at the April 23 meeting to celebrate Jay !
Finally , for this year ’ s Arbor Day of Service we ’ re looking forward to seeing what projects emerge , which neighborhoods and communities benefit from expert tree care , and how much of a difference can be made as MAA members fan out all around the state . There will be projects of all sizes and scopes . ADOS is a great way to make a significant impact in our local communities - while shining a light on the talents of our members and the importance of working with trained professionals .
In other news , the MAA office continues to accept 2024 membership renewals and MCA recertifications throughout the spring . If you missed your chance to renew or recertify this winter , it is not too late to get back on track with MAA . If you have any questions , please reach out .
