President ' s Message

Hello MAA Members & Happy Spring ,
As we all gear up for what promises to be a busy season , I started to think about how we are all in this together – and how well we support each other during this crazy time of year .
Spring is a time of growth , making it the perfect time to initiate projects and partnerships . By exchanging ideas and expertise with other members , allied professionals , and suppliers we stay on top of the latest research , techniques , and technologies . We learn from each other .
At the MAA , our mission is to help ensure the success of our members , and the tree care industry . We know that this success depends on collaborating with organizations that share the same values and goals as our association members . A recent example of this collaboration was our March 19 meeting with the Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals . The topic , Emotional Wellness in the Workplace , was thought provoking and proved to be a good jumping off point for conversation and connection with colleagues .
My favorite day of the year is Arbor Day of Service – April 26 , 2024 . The annual event is another great example of MAA members working together to provide the highest level of tree care to communities in need across the state . Whether it ’ s a major volunteer project at a city park , or a tree planting at a local elementary school , our collective efforts allow us to maximize our impact and bring attention to the importance of proper tree care and preservation .
Thank you for your willingness to show up and participate ! Together , we cultivate healthier , more resilient urban forests and inspire future generations to protect our natural resources .
Kevin Cleveland , MCA MAA President
