MAA Scholarships Every year, MAA proudly invests in the future of the tree care industry by offering scholarships to students studying commer- cial arboriculture at UMass. UMass for more than 25 years – and his late wife, Frances, whose care and support of her husband’s arboriculture students earned her the endearing nickname of “Ma” King. MAA’s President, Trumbull Barrett, MCA , will present the 2020 scholarships to two Stockbridge freshman, Morgan Parent and Samuel St. George, at the UMass Tree Conference in early March. MAA/MTWFA DENNIS RYAN OUTSTANDING ARBORICULTURE STUDENT AWARD This annual $1,000 award is given to an upperclassman at UMass/Stockbridge who is hard working and shows great promise as a future arborist. It is presented by the MAA and the Massachusetts Tree Warden & Foresters Association (MTWFA). The recipient is selected by UMass faculty. MAA GORDON and FRANCES KING SCHOLARSHIPS Incoming students enrolling full-time in the four-year Urban Forestry program at UMass, or in the two-year Arboriculture and Park Management program at the Stockbridge School of Agricul- ture, are eligible to apply. There are up to three $1000 scholar- ships available.
