MAA Awards Scholarships A highlight of the annual Tree Conference, held on March 5, 2019 at UMass Amherst, was the presentation of scholarship awards. MAA president Natascha Batchelor, MCA presented a $2500 Gordon & Frances King Scholarship to freshman, Myles Barnes. The H. Dennis P. Ryan Outstanding Arboriculture Stu- dent Award – a joint award presented by the MAA and the MTWFA – was presented to Nick Greenwood. “Thank you for selecting me as a scholarship recipient. This scholarship will go toward next semester’s bill and will allow me to purchase some climbing gear. Scholarships have helped me tremendously with lowering the cost of coming out of school further in debt.” – Myles Barnes “Thank you so much for recognizing me for this award.
