MCA UPDATE
Hello MCAs and MAA members ,
October 2022
As we go to press , new MCA Image binders are being assembled in advance of next week ’ s exam sessions . We wish all exam candidates luck in these final days of preparation and look forward to a successful outcome for many .
MCA recertification will open in a few weeks . Do you have enough credits as we approach the end of the year ? If you ’ re falling short , consider participating in the two final MAA events of the year ( October webinar or November annual meeting ). You can also check out the EARN CEUs page at the website for ideas for other industry webinars or events . There is even a safety credit webinar promoted there if you need those credits . Do not wait until the end of December to address this critical matter .
All MCA credits for 2022 will be reported online . The online recertification form is very easy to complete and is pre-populated with many of the industry events you attended to earn credit . Everyone at the MAA office has worked hard to make this process as streamlined as possible for all of us . Do your part and turn in your full set of credits as soon as possible !
As you look ahead to 2023 , how does the MCA certification program fit into your company goals ? The MCA Committee continues to advance the notion that all committed industry members should prepare for and earn MCA certifications . Every new MCA represents a step toward improving how our industry is perceived . Every new MCA exemplifies the skills necessary to practice arboriculture . We look forward to welcoming more MCAs from member companies in 2023 !

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE RESOURCES
In addition to the required MCA Study Guide , the BMP manuals are essential for full preparation . They can be obtained through ISA and TCIA – instructions for ordering these are at the MCA Study Guide section of the website – or borrow them from a colleague .
MCA OVERVIEW
A helpful preparation tool available to exam candidates is the MCA Overview . Registration for both the SCIENCE and TECHNIQUES webinars is open at MassArbor . org . Each webinar is approximately 1.5 hours long and outlines the key points in each Study Guide chapter and BMP manual . This is a great way to spot-check your progress . ($ 24 members / $ 44 non-members for each webinar )
MAA Supports ISA Climbing Championship
MAA was proud to sponsor the ISA-New England Climbing Championship in Framingham , MA this summer . Climbers came from near and far to participate , and MAA member volunteers were out in force at this terrific industry event !
