Legal Pitfalls Every Arborist Should Know
Safe Job Site Setup: Cranes & Bucket Trucks in the Field
A safe day on the job starts before the first cut is made. Developed in response to OSHA’ s encouragement for more job site setup training and aligned with ANSI Z133 standards, this hands-on field session will demonstrate how to safely assess and set up a work site when cranes and bucket trucks are in use.
Using actual equipment, Mike Melito and Ryan Hatcher will cover proper equipment placement and stabilization, overhead and electrical hazards, drop zones, crew positioning, pre-job briefings, and other critical safety considerations.
This is not a classroom lecture. Attendees will see proper setup demonstrated in the field and leave with practical safety practices they can put to work with their crews immediately. Space is limited to 50 members. ISA and MCA Safety CEUs.
Every recommendation an arborist makes, from evaluating a hazard tree to preparing a proposal or advising a property owner, can carry potential legal liability.
Attorney Timothy F. Fallon will lead this practical program focused on the legal issues tree care professionals encounter every day. Drawing on his experience representing businesses and litigating tree-related disputes, Tim will address professional advice and liability, tree ownership and property boundaries, contracts and documentation, and the important role of insurance in protecting your business.
Through real-world examples, attendees will learn how to recognize potential legal pitfalls, reduce risk, and make better-informed decisions before problems become costly ones.
