President ' s Message
Fall is one of the busiest and most rewarding seasons in arboriculture, and I’ m grateful for the strong professional community that makes the MAA such a valuable organization.
Last month, we hosted our first event at the MAA Arboriculture Learning Hub at Millborn Farm. It was exciting to see members come together at what we envision as a permanent home for arboriculture education and training in Massachusetts. The enthusiasm of those attending reinforced the tremendous potential of this project. I encourage every member to consider supporting our fundraising campaign. Contributions of any size will help us build a lasting resource for future generations of arborists.
We also look forward to our October 21 Safety Saves seminar, focusing on safe job site setup for cranes and aerial lifts, followed by our dinner meeting addressing legal issues arborists face when working with customers.
In this issue, you’ ll find important information about our upcoming Annual Meeting on November 18, proposed slate of officers and directors, and bylaw updates. Please take a few minutes to review the material that will arrive via email later this month. We also share recent MCA exam results, details about the new Individual Arborist Membership category, and annual dues renewals. Congratulations to our newest MCAs for their commitment to professionalism and continuing education.
As always, thank you for your support of the MAA and for the work you do every day to advance arboriculture throughout the Commonwealth.
Russell Holman, MCA, BCMA, CTSP President
