President ' s Message
Hello MAA Members ,
Serving as MAA ’ s president has been one of the greatest honors of my life . Who would have thought that when Dan McCarthy “ volunteered ” me for the MCA committee more than a decade ago , I would be writing the final message of my term as President ?
What ride ! This organization is filled with exceptionally talented professionals . My top takeaways from this experience include the unique insights shared by others , the personal growth I ’ ve achieved as a leader , and the friendships I ’ ve formed that I know will last a lifetime .
Every MAA safety workshop , dinner meeting , Field Day , MCA exam , and Arbor Day celebration has left a lasting impression on me . There aren ’ t many people in the world who do what we do . We ’ re a unique community , bound together by our love of trees , the great outdoors , and the respect we have for one another .
On October 15 , I was particularly proud to announce the launch of MAA ’ s new benevolence fund . This initiative , inspired by members , aims to support those among us who may be facing unforeseen hardship . It ’ s another great example of our close-knit community .
Our association is in excellent hands with Russell taking the helm in January 2025 . I plan to stay involved and find ways to continue contributing , and I hope you will all do the same .
