Welcome to another edition of M3 Today. So much has
happened during the last quarter . . . where do we start?
The biggest news is that Governor Whitmer has abolished
the marijuana licensing board! Who saw that coming? This
change

give Michigan businesses a chance to compete in this exciting
new industry. The board will be replaced by a new department
that consolidates all elements of the marijuana industry. The
Governor has also retained Andrew Brisbo, who we believe is
a great choice to run the new department. We expect some
delays during the transition process with the establishment
of this new department, but once it is operational, we are

optimistic about Industry
how this new
department will help the
industry.
Next up is the continued on-again, off-again situation related
to caregivers and provisioning centers. There is clearly not

licensed sources and likely will not be for several

quarters. These provisioning centers are businesses, with

And what about the secure transport companies? How do
they put together a business with the lack of clarity regarding
when their services will be required?
One thing for sure, Executive Director Brisbo will have his
hands full for the foreseeable future!
