Q: Who is your biggest idol and why? A: Musically my biggest influence has always been, and still remains to be, RAKIM, due to the fact that he has always been a thought-provoking emcee and pushed the bar of being a lyricist to a whole nother level. I salute the God. Q: Tell us about some of your recent records: “Perception”, “The Only City”, “Ride or Die”, etc. A: One of the more popular records I have released is THE SERMON. Reason being, it is a response to the ignorant statements TRINIDAD JAMES made at his show in Brooklyn, New York about New York music and how New York artists are being ran by the south. So my executive producer MR FARR and I took it upon ourselves to respond to his statement through records, and to be creative, we added a funeral in the middle of the record to show the death of TRINIDAD JAMES AND HIS PINK THONG WEARING PUNK ASS. PERCEPTION is a huge international record produced by MR FARR. The record is important because it touches the issues of today and how governments try to force feed there version of the truth on us as the people through music and how we’re so confused in the information we’re perceiving. As we all know, perception is everything in life. THE ONLY CITY produced by MR FARR is a representation of that classic hip hop sound, that BOOM BAP, and nobody has a better more unique sound in hip hop like NEW YORK does, and when it comes to the birth and creation of hip hop AND BEING THE REAL TRENDSETTERS OF POP CULTURE, THERE IS ONLY ONE CITY NEW YORK CITY. LAY IT DOWN REMIX is a co-lab done with me and a German artist by the name of RIENNE. After I released the control freestyle, I was contacted by Rienne and was asked if I could redo the record, lay it down, and if I can make it a joint record that would be mine and hers as well. So I agreed, and they sent me the beat, I recorded it on a Saturday, took a total of 20 min sent it back the producer. STAMED music put his touches on it and the rest is history. One of the best records I have under my belt to date. Its a song that can be played any place, at any time, for any audience. (Cont’d)
