“What sets me from the rest is that I am the Queen of the Pack, therefore you done know. It’s about roots, natural simplicity and pure hits,” says the Queen, herself.

Patra is a dancehall deejay from Kingston, Jamaica. Her musical roots stem from early choir days and singing competitions. She gives a lot of thanks to Shabba Ranks who helped push her music to stardom in her early days. Her first big show was Sting ’88 and she signed to Epic label around this time. Her first album “Queen of the Pack” was released in 1993 and was a huge success. “Jamaican dancehall music has its first international queen of the genre, and her name is Patra!" exclaimed Vanity Fair. Patra has a barrage of awards under her belt from the Annual Caribbean Awards, the International Reggae Awards, and the Canadian Reggae Awards.

With all her success in the 90’s fans were surprised that she was out of the spotlight for quite a long time. She made a strong comeback in 2013 with her fifth studio album, Patra: The Continuation with the big hit “Come Ova”. She shocked everyone with her new vibe. She is the essence of a strong, sexy and talented woman. Her maturity has made her music stronger, she knows who she is and where she wants her music to go.

“You have to be born to do this and to do it well. It’s a natural thing so, if you know if you can’t manage, it don’t make sense to try it,” says Patra.
