In 1976, amidst the violent turmoil between Jamaica's opposing political parties, an assassination attempt was made on Bob's life while rehearsing at 56 Hope Road for the #SmileJamaica concert. Marley was shot in the arm, his wife & bandmate RitaMarley was shot in the head, and manager Don Taylor was shot several times in the stomach. Miraculously, all survived the horrific event, and in a showing of great ideological fortitude and bravery, Bob Marley & The Wailers would go on to perform at the festival as scheduled, just two days later.
