While in Zanzibar we highly recommend you to visit Stone Town. It is a fascinating living monument to the history of East Africa. Here you will find shops, markets, craft centers, stunning old buildings, and historic sites. It is an extraordinary place to explore. Interesting tip: visit the Mercury’s restaurant in Stone Town. The restaurant pays a tribute to Freddy Mercury who was born in Zanzibar in 1946.
