Brisbane saw the second largest luxury house price growth among major cities with a 102.5 per cent jump between 2014 and 2023 . It also had a very significant difference from the median house price growth rate which sat at 82.3 per cent over the same period . Brisbane ended 2023 with luxury prices at $ 1.8 million and median prices at $ 838,000 .

Luxury unit price growth was more muted at 50.8 per cent to end 2023 at $ 1.1 million . Still , this is a remarkable feat as this marks the first year that luxury unit prices passed the million-dollar threshold . Median unit price growth over the past decade , on the other hand , was at 35 per cent to end 2023 at $ 554,000 . Similarly to luxury houses , luxury units can credit the majority of their price increase to the period between 2020 and 2023 .
