In September Sotogrande played host to the GC32 Racing Tour , an international circuit for state of the art foiling ( aka flying ) catamarans . Capable of speeds of over 40 knots ( 75kmh ), GC32s are among the fastest sailing yachts in the world and attract top competitors including Olympic medalists and round-the-world race winners . The event was won by former Match Racing World Champion Adam Minoprio and his NORAUTO crew .
