LANDSCAPING AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
A KEY FEATURE OF FONTANA
Situated at the highest point within the distinguished Cascada de Camojan estate in Marbella , Fontana is a collection of five new , architecturally curated villas , developed by Sir John Beckwith of UK based Pacific Investments , in conjunction with Penna Property Partners .
The site , already rich in vegetation , features ancient , protected Spanish cork trees and pines and so it was vital that the gardens were in no way secondary and that the natural beauty of the plot was preserved . Distinguishing themselves from other developments , already employed to work on the project is a full-time team of landscape designers who are working closely to ensure that the gardens holistically and seamlessly blend with each property .
Lead landscape designer on the project Javier Del Riomol explained ; “ We have 51 protected trees on this plot including olive , cork , carob and pines . The designs have been made to preserve the trees in their original position as much as possible and to work with the natural contours of the plot to make the villas sit perfectly within their environment . The key is to respect the stunning environment here and enhance it with a large central green zone , landscaping with mature plants and trees and allowing nature to come into the homes as much as possible .”
The Counsellor for Development and Planning at Marbella Town Hall Isabel M ª Pérez Ortiz attended the glamourous launch event this October and commented , “ It is great to see a project with such focus on caring for the environment of the plot , shows such commitment to protecting the trees and plants and fitting the design in with the natural landscape .”
