In 1962 the community of Sotogrande started coming to life, building homes and world-class sporting facilities among some of Andalusia’ s finest Mediterranean landscape.
Central to La Reserva is the 18-hole, 7,400-yard golf course designed by Cabell B. Robinson, one of the world’ s renowned architects who also envisioned the courses at Finca Cortesin nearby and the Royal Palm in Marrakesh. Mentored by Robert Trent Jones, who created the masterpiece Club Real at Sotogrande, Robinson’ s is the fifth course is the fifth course to join Sotogrande and occupies a favorable top-tier position overlooking the Mediterranean, the Andalusian hills and the Straits of Gibraltar.
The original La Reserva clubhouse, built in 2003 to provide a focal point to the golf course, was designed to incorporate key architectural motifs that blended Andalusian and historic Moorish influences such as horseshoe arched windows, internal courtyards and vaulted beamed ceilings.
In recent months La Reserva clubhouse has undergone something of a Renaissance, laying the ground for the creation of further amenities in this area such as a swimmable lagoon, exceptional wellness spa, tennis club and children’ s club. Together these will be the cornerstones to creating a secure and fully contained community within La Reserva.
