Imagine a global artistic creation
transforming Port-Louis, the sleeping
city, into a theatrical stage. This is the
experience promised by the Porlwi by
Light festival. Lights, music, painting…
an array of art forms brought together to
capture the soul of Port-Louis, the métis
city. The festival sets out to revitalise the
capital, bring out its rich past, highlight its
once forgotten historical monuments, and
finally, discover the raw beauty of PortLouis by night.
A cultural and artistic challenge organised
by Guillaume Jauffret and her accomplice
Astrid Dalais who created Move For Art
in 2008, an agency using artistic staging
as a powerful communication medium.
A former professional dancer, Guillaume
has a perfect mastery of lighting effects
and knows how important it is to set the
right atmosphere and an excellent sound
system to turn an artistic show into an
unforgettable performance.
It is the hope of Astrid and Guillaume
that this edition of the festival will be the
first of a long series of events that honour
culture and where local artists have the
opportunity of meeting their fans.
Sponsored by the Mauritius Tourism
Promotion Authority and the Ministry of
Arts and Culture, this challenge will take
the capital by storm from the 4th to the 6th
of December 2015. If this festival achieves
its goal, Mauritius and Port-Louis will
earn their place in the annals of the world’s
cultural scene… in style!
