de placemaking, a proposé une approche
novatrice à Sun Resorts pour repenser le
cadre de La Flibuste. Posé sur une longue
plage de sable blanc bordée par la végétation
d’un côté et les eaux calmes du lagon de
l’autre, ce bar de plage confidentiel jouit d’un
cadre naturel digne d’un paradis perdu. With this colourful image in mind, the
Mauritian placemaking agency, Jugaad,
provided Sun Resorts with an innovative
plan for the reorganisation of La Flibuste's
idyllic backdrop. Set on a long stretch of
white-sand beach trapped between the
grove, on the one side, and a quiet lagoon,
on the other, this intimate beach bar enjoys a
naturally exquisite setting.
Avec l’idée de proposer une expérience
immersive, Jugaad imagine un véritable
retour aux sources. Sa recommandation
s’articule en trois axes : Going for an immersive experience,
Jugaad has imagined an authentic return
to the sources and comes up with a set of
recommendations in three parts.

La reforestation de l’île Reforestation
L’idée est simple : pour redonner du sens
au lieu, il faut réhabiliter son écosystème
naturel. Ainsi, les filaos (une espèce
hautement invasive qui nuit à la faune
indigène locale) sont coupés pour laisser la
place à des arbres endémiques : bois de fer,
veloutiers blancs, vacoas, lataniers bleus,
hibiscus… The idea is simple: the natural ecosystem of the
island needs to be restored to give back a sense
to the place. The filao trees - an invasive tree
from the Casuarina family, which has spread
over the shore at the expense of native species -
are cut down to make room for endemic plants
such as ironwood, beach naupaka, screwpine,
blue latan palm tree, hibiscus…
