Des forêts de mangroves aux récifs coralliens,
les rivages de l’océan Indien abritent une
faune et une flore abondantes. Pour préserver
cette nature qui fait la beauté et la force de
nos territoires, Constance Hotels & Resorts
a instauré une charte environnementale pour
repenser et intégrer ses actions de manière
écologique, du travail opérationnel à des
projets de plus grande ampleur visant, entre
autres, à entretenir et restaurer l’écosystème
entourant ses hôtels.
Dès 2014, six des établissements du groupe
sont soumis annuellement à un audit Green
Globe afin d’évaluer leur performance en
durabilité environnementale. Cet audit
se concentre sur quatre axes : une gestion
hôtelière durable ; l’investissement dans
le développement social et économique
des communautés locales ; la préservation
du patrimoine culturel et la sauvegarde
des ressources utilisées. En plus d’être le
premier groupe à avoir reçu la Green Globe
Certification à Maurice, Constance Hotels &
Resorts compte fièrement parmi les
« Gold Members » l’ayant obtenue cinq
années d’affilée.
From mangrove forests to coral reefs, the
shores of the Indian Ocean are home
to an abundance of flora and fauna. To
preserve these natural settings that are
central to our resorts’ beauty and attraction,
Constance Hotels & Resorts has established
an environmental charter to ensure its
operations are run in an ecologically sound
way, amongst other things aiming to
preserve and restore the ecosystems around
its hotels in all respects, right through from
routine activities to major projects.
Since 2014, six of the Group’s hotels
have been subject to an annual Green
Globe audit in order to evaluate their
environmental sustainability. The audit
focuses on four areas: sustainable hotel
management, investment in the social
and economic development of local
communities, support to local culture and
safeguarding of resources used. On top
of being the first group in Mauritius to
have obtained Green Globe Certification,
Constance Hotels & Resorts is proud
to be a Gold Member, having obtained
certification for five years in a row.
Riche d’un patrimoine naturel exceptionnel
aux abords de ses hôtels, le groupe œuvre
à la protection de la faune et de la flore
locales. Parmi ses initiatives, la protection des
tortues imbriquées au Constance Lemuria
Seychelles. En danger critique d’extinction,
cette espèce a vu ces dernières années sa
population augmenter aux Seychelles. L’hôtel
apporte sa contribution en protégeant les
œufs pondus sur la plage d’Anse Kerlan
durant toute leur période d’incubation. Blessed with the exceptional natural
heritage around its hotels, the Group works
hard to protect local plants and wildlife.
Among its initiatives is the protection of
hawksbill turtles at Constance Lemuria
Seychelles. On the list of critically
endangered species, in recent years the
hawksbill population has grown in the
Seychelles. The Hotel’s contribution is to
protect eggs laid on Anse Kerlan beach
throughout their incubation period.
Non loin, sur l’île de Mahé, l’hôtel Constance
Ephelia veille à la reforestation de la
mangrove. D’abord cultivés en pépinière,
les plants sont ensuite réintégrés dans leur
environnement naturel où ils abritent de
nombreuses espèces animales. Il n’est pas rare
d’y croiser des touristes venus comprendre
la mission essentielle de ces forêts pour la
biodiversité. Not far away, on Mahé Island, the
Constance Ephelia Hotel cares for the
restoration of its mangrove trees. Grown
first in a nursery, seedling plants are then
transplanted to their natural environment
where they provide a habitat for numerous
animal species. Tourists often come to
the site in order to see for themselves the
essential role of such forests in biodiversity.

pour éduquer à la préservation des coraux
et de la biodiversité, toutes les occasions

fight to preserve our natural resources,

makes a point of sharing its awareness
and involvement with its guests. Every
opportunity to create awareness is a means
of helping the planet, from Constance
Lemuria’s Eco Kiosk to encounters with
giant Aldabra tortoises, as well as the
collaboration between Constance Prince
Maurice and Reef Conservation Mauritius
to create awareness around the need to
preserve corals and biodiversity.
