Restaurer, protéger et conserver Restore, protect and preserve
Après treize années de perseverance, la
reserve parvient à restaurer 16 des 50
hectares de cette forêt en plantant plus
de 143 mille plantes indigènes et en
abritant une centaine d'oiseaux dont six
des neuf espèces endémiques de l’île ; un
centre écologique ; un musée d’histoire
naturelle ainsi qu’un refuge pour les espèces
menacées. C’est en s’associant avec des
écoles, ONG, organismes de financement,
gouvernements et entreprises, que la réserve
parvient à restaurer, protéger et conserver
ces trésors verts trop longtemps négligés. Thirteen years of hard work after the launch
of the project, 16 hectares of this forest – out
of 50 –, with over 143,000 native plants
planted; over a hundred birds, including six
of the nine endemic species of the island; an
ecological centre; a natural history museum
and a refuge for endangered species. The
Ebony Forest Reserve owes this success to
partnerships with schools, NGOs, funding
agencies, governments and businesses,
enabling it to restore, protect and preserve
our precious fauna and flora, neglected for
way too long.
