Où avez-vous puisé l’inspiration pour la réalisation
de ce projet ?
La beauté exceptionnelle du site couplé à un concept respectueux
de l’environnement ont été les points d’inspiration de ce projet. Il
a paru évident de le fondre dans le paysage pour ne pas dénaturer
l’environnement de la baie de Rivière Noire. Mon client, Société
Horizon Suites Limited, a adhéré à notre vision en acceptant de
diviser par deux le nombre d’unité prévues, offrant ainsi à chacune
une vue sur mer, tout en conservant l’idée du campement traditionnel
mauricien. What’s been your source of inspiration in
designing this project?
It’s been the exceptional beauty of the site coupled with a
concept that respects the natural setting. It was obvious that the
project should blend into the tropical landscape so as to protect
the environment around Black River Bay. My client, Société
Horizon Suites, embraced our vision by reducing the number of
units originally planned by 50%, thereby giving everyone a view
of the sea and retaining the concept of a traditional Mauritian
campement (beachside house).

en bord de mer ?
À Maurice, la vie en bord de mer était traditionnellement celle des
campements, une vie sans stress et authentique. Aujourd’hui, des
projets tels qu’Asmara offrent luxe et confort tout en valorisant le style
de vie authentique du bord de mer, et accompagne l’investissement de
prestations qualitatives telles que la gestion locative. What is the typical kind of beachfront architecture?
In Mauritius, beachside life was traditionally campement-
style, simple and stress-free. Nowadays, projects like Asmara
provide comfort and luxury, respecting a genuine beachside
lifestyle but with the benefit of quality services such as property
management.
Qu'est-ce qui vous séduit sur la côte ouest ?
Sans aucune hésitation, l’aspect naturel et encore préservé, que je
trouve merveilleux : la chaîne de montagne des Gorges de la Rivière
Noire, la Tourelle qui glisse dans la mer, le golf de Tamarina, et bien
sûr, la lumière du coucher de soleil….

What do you find particularly attractive about the
West Coast?
Undoubtedly the preserved state of the countryside. I find it
wonderful – the chain of mountains around the Black River
Gorges, the Tourelle which descends towards the sea, the Tamarina
golf course and, of course, the West Coast sunsets.
