Un moment d’évasion en pleine nature au sud de
La Réunion
Hors des sentiers battus du tourisme réunionnais, et si différent des
stations balnéaires de la côte ouest, le dépaysement prend un autre
visage dans le Sud sauvage, plus précisément à Petite-Ile. Enclave
empreinte d’une authenticité héritée de son histoire, le piton en face
duquel a été délicatement posé le Palm n’est autre qu’un des vestiges du
Piton de la Fournaise.
L’expérience 5 étoiles y a été réinventée, en surplomb de la magnifique
plage de sable blanc bordée de palmiers et de cocotiers qu’est Grande
Anse. Alors qu’une navette vous y conduira deux fois par jour et qu’un
petit chemin de randonnée y mène doucement, la vue exceptionnelle
sur la baie est également appréciée du haut d’un espace plage aménagé,
le Kah Beach. L’unique hôtel de luxe du Sud sauvage se veut ainsi une
authentique ode à la sérénité et à l’évasion !
Auprès d’une clientèle locale ou internationale, le lieu plaît car il
incorpore des atouts imparables : proche de l’aéroport de Pierrefonds,
à proximité de la dynamique ville du Sud (Saint-Pierre), et belle
escale en route vers les sites naturels classés au patrimoine mondial
de l’humanité par l’UNESCO. Par ailleurs, son héliport est une
invitation constante à survoler l’île.
Bien-être et développement durable au cœur d’un
environnement préservé
Parmi les services haut de gamme et sur mesure – une conciergerie
pour vous aider dans l’organisation de votre séjour ; deux restaurants
(le Makassar et le Kah Beach) ; un bar (le Kokoa Bar) ; une immense
piscine à débordement, et une deuxième piscine chauffée à 28 degrés –,
l’expérience spa y fait figure de proue. Elle se vit sous la signature de la
marque Akea aux senteurs de l’océan Indien et créée par Nanou Jam,
la co-propriétaire de l’hôtel. Ainsi, au cœur d’un espace zen de 435 m²
comprenant hammam, bain à remous à ciel ouvert et jardin tropical, de
nouveaux soins sont à découvrir : Baby Soon, un modelage spécialement
dédié aux futures mamans, ou encore Bamboo, un soin alliant douceur
et fermeté, rythmé par le bambou.
Au Palm, le bien-être est aussi cultivé en duo avec un fort engagement
dans un tourisme responsable. Premier hôtel de l’océan Indien
détenteur de l’Écolabel européen, il a été pensé dès ses débuts afin
de s’intégrer au mieux au cœur de l’environnement luxuriant du Sud
sauvage. Ainsi, matériaux naturels (tels que des bois exotiques ou encore
la pierre volcanique) côtoient charpentes en bardeaux et paillotes en
vétiver, facilitant une aération naturelle. À cela s’ajoute une politique
environnementale incluant une gestion responsable de l’eau et des
ressources énergétiques, l’élimination d’emballages superflus sur site,
la création et l’utilisation de produits d’entretien à partir d’eau, de sel
et d’un procédé d’électrolyse, une priorité faite aux commandes de
produits locaux en cuisine ou encore la proposition d’une eau micro-
filtrée et servie en bouteille en verre aux restaurants.
The hotel redefines the five-star experience, overlooking Grande Anse,
a magnificent white sand beach, lined with palm and coconut trees. A
small path gently leads to the sea, as well as a shuttle service which runs
to and from the bay twice a day. Guests often stay put, however, lazing
on the hotel’s own Kah Beach, created with an exceptional view of the
bay below. The only luxury hotel on the South Coast has been designed
as a genuine ode to serenity and relaxation.
Appealing to both local and overseas guests, it has many great
advantages: lying not far from Pierrefonds Airport and the South’s
main town of Saint-Pierre, as well as being a good spot from which to
explore the natural marvels designated as UNESCO World Heritage
sites. It also has its own heliport, an open invitation to fly over the
island’s splendours.
Well-being and sustainable development in the
heart of a natural environment
The top-notch and bespoke amenities include a concierge service to
help guests organise their stay, the Makassar and Kah Beach restaurants,
the Kokoa Bar, a large infinity pool as well as a heated pool (28 o C), and
a flagship spa. The Akea signature spa products are redolent with the
scents of the Indian Ocean and were designed by the hotel’s co-owner,
Nanou Jam. Spread out over 435 square metres, the atmosphere is
wonderfully soothing, with facilities including a steam room, an open-
air jacuzzi and a tropical garden. Amongst the treatments available
are two new ones: Baby Soon, a massage for expectant mothers, and
Bamboo, a relaxing in-depth massage using a bamboo stick.
The Palm cultivates well-being hand-in-hand with a strong commitment
to responsible tourism. It was the first hotel in the Indian Ocean to
receive the EU Ecolabel and from the outset was designed to integrate
as closely as possible into its lush and unspoilt natural environment.
Natural materials have been used, such as tropical timber and volcanic
rock, as well as shingle tiling and vetiver thatching to provide natural
ventilation. The hotel’s green policy includes the reasoned use of water
and energy resources, the elimination of unnecessary packaging on
site, and the use of cleaning products concocted from water, salt and a
process of electrolysis. The chef gives priority to local produce and, in
the restaurants, micro-filtered water is available in glass bottles.
A thought lingers in the air at Palm Hotel & Spa: The real luxury isn’t
it definitely “in our nature”? And it seems truer the longer you stay in
this natural and timeless setting.

A natural hideaway in the South of Reunion Island
Far from the tourist crowds and the seaside resorts on the West Coast,
the South has preserved its unique identity and offers a very different
scenery, particularly at Petite-Ile. As a result of its history, the enclave
has an authenticity of its own. The Palm has been cleverly positioned
looking towards the green peak that is a vestige of the Piton de la
Fournaise volcano.
