« Mon œil recherche toujours ces lieux au cachet spécial . » De là , un concept prend forme et Raoul invite , au culot , son sujet à y trouver sa place . « Ces personnes sont des amis , de lointaines connaissances ou des inconnus croisés sur la route à qui je peux donner rendez-vous au lever du jour sur un rond-point , par exemple ! » L ’ artiste n ’ en démord pas : il a une vision claire et ne s ’ arrête devant rien pour la réaliser .
Ce contraste , entre le travaillé et le spontané , transforme des scènes ordinaires en des clichés extraordinaires .

And then there is the chosen subject … both strong and frail . Strong through its underlying ingenuousness . “ They are people like us . They are not necessarily used to being photographed , and their expressions convey a genuine emotion .” Frail , because he has the responsibility to bring out the beauty of the frame , and not the opposite .
“ I have an eye for such places , which have a special flair .” From there emerges a concept , and then , on the spot , Raoul invites his subject to hop in . “ They can be friends , distant acquaintances or strangers I came across , and with whom I can agree to meet at daybreak on a roundabout , for example !” The artist is adamant : he has a clear vision and lets nothing stand in his way to make it happen .
Such contrast , between what is well-planned and what comes spontaneously , transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary shots .
