Greetings fellow hoteliers,
The International Luxury Hotel Association team is in the last few weeks of
preparation for the INSPIRE’19 Summit taking place at the Four Seasons Miami 3 &
4 December. We have high-level speakers from the luxury hotel industry who will
give you a broad overview of the trends and innovations you need to know for the
upcoming year.
Cornell School of Hotel Administration will be holding a panel on The Impact of
Alternative Accommodation in the Luxury Market, where they will be discussing how
to navigate these alternative accommodations while managing the client’s high
expectations and varying economic conditions.
Bridget Tran, Vice President, Global Digital Strategies & Innovation, Nobu, will be
talking about Digital Revenue Optimization: The Commercial Mindset, exploring the
adoption of a new way of thinking, moving away from revenue-generation to profit-
maximization.
We will have a panel of experts from Montage International, Hyatt, The Setai and
Proper Hospitality discussing Partnerships – Expand your Narrative, where they will talk about successful
partnerships they have implemented at their properties and what to look for in an effective brand
collaboration.
Luxury Hoteliers magazine opens with a Speaker Showcase that highlights our key speakers who will
give you an overview of the trends influencing the luxury hotel industry as well as several Spotlight On
interviews that go into more detail about their session and their brand.
Further in the issue is how to Make Social Good Your Competitive Advantage, incorporating social
responsibility into your corporate culture, whether it be water-saving measures, combatting human
trafficking or using technology to optimize the alignment between your guest and your brand.
We also catch up with Moira Mdakana, the first black woman in Cape Town, South Africa, to be appointed to
the elite Les Clefs d’Or Society of the golden keys. In her words, “dream big, find your purpose and run with it!”
