Over the course of the pandemic , we have seen a reduction in the labor pool as transferable skills migrate to other less affected industries . As we rebuild the hotel teams , the pursuit of talent will be more challenging and more competitive than ever . unity and power in diversity . What that means is a culture of inclusion that welcomes everyone from different experiences , regardless of race , gender , or background . As with other areas of the operation , the key is to be agile , creative , and broaden our search for talent – if we do what we have always done we will get what we have always gotten , so we need new approaches and new sources . Our recruitment marketing campaign includes the creation of various tools and resources for hotels to showcase our employee value proposition , market our available opportunities and attract diverse candidates .
With regards to retention , the pandemic was a huge disruption in the talent we have on board today , and it has given us the opportunity to rethink how we approach retention . It can ’ t be a one size fits all plan . How we approach wages , clustering , benefits , etc . is critically important . Listening to the hotels is imperative – they know what is needed to make sure what we are doing moving forward is relevant .
