TRAVEL
For most young adults Salt Lake City, UT is far from
their list of places they immediately jump to when they
think vacation. In fact, outside of heading there in the
winter for the great skiing and snowboarding its not even
though out at all. In spite of all those reasons, I decided
to take a trip there for my end of summer detox from the
city and was very pleasantly surprised at the warmth,
culture, and beauty I found there.
The first thing you notice when you step off the plane
and as your Salt Lake is the warm friendly feeling that
you have from the people. As you go around the city you
noticed that people are not just smiling because they’re
happy but because they genuinely want to see what they
can do to help you as you navigate through their quaint
city. Most people have the misconception that because it
is the home of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints that Salt Lake City is nothing but Mormons and
polygamy. I would have to disagree, throughout the city
the influence of the LDS church is that there is a huge
focus on family values and the concept of hard work and
quality of life over anything else.
The literal center of Salt Lake City is Temple Square.
The rich and beautiful architecture of the square is the
perfect blend of classical and modern. By design, it is the
literal representation of the heart of the city being its
