Up Do’s For
Fall
by: Nwadi Oko
With fall around the corner, sleek updos will be all the rage.
There are many reasons as to why an updo makes a great fall
companion: it emphasizes facial features and natural beauty,
lasts a couple of days, trims down your morning routine, and,
of course, removes the hair from your neck if you’re part of
the world that still has leftover summer.
For those of you with straight hair, buns are common for an
updo styling. Put to good use that donut hair piece, curl the
front pieces of your hair to add to the look, and secure all of
the flyaways with dry shampoo. A bun at the top of your head
creates a professional vibe, but beware of the strain.
For a less conventional look, style your bun lower, towards
the neck — this will relieve the strain at the front of your
head. If you know how to French braid, try parting your hair
and
French braid one side before putting it all in a bun. Be sure to
fully detangle and comb the hair beforehand, and to finish off
with a hair spray afterwards.
For those with curly hair, updos can last a couple of days,
which is perfect if you are tired of styling your hair every
night. Remember, pulling your hair too much into updos can
cause breakage, so switch the ways you do it every now and
again. For example, go for a puff; it is great for days when
your twist out is looking lackluster. Smooth the base of your
hair with eco styler and use a large hair band to gather all
the hair towards the top of your head. Or how about the
slick bun? This may vary from hair to hair, but it can last 3
to 4 days! Make a clean part of your choice, down the side or
middle, and then work on sections smoothing your hair down
until you have rounded it up in a ponytail.
Easy, simple, and timeless. You’re ready for fall!
