Thomas Long
A busy man with a passionate pen: This is the only way to describe author Thomas Long. No gimmicks, straightforward, and serious about his craft, Long is a force to be reckoned with in the street-lit community. From 2001 to the present, Long has written / contributed to fourteen works, including his novels Dayvon’s Story: A Thug’s Life and Just Like Daddy, compilations such as Niore presents From the Streets to the Sheets and K Elliot presents Fantasy, and anthologies including The Guilty Pleasure Series, volumes 1-3. With his plate full and his relentless dedication to his work, the York Pennsylvania resident is always out in the streets pushing his books, meeting his readers, and acquiring new ones. His hustle never rests. As if his literary resume wasn’t already impressive, Long’s accomplishment of having his first novel, Dayvon’s Story: A Thug’s Life, transformed into the full length feature film entitled 4Life is remarkable. He has made commendable moves in the industry and rightfully serves as a mentor and role model to literary newcomers. Impressed by his accomplishments and inspired by his hustle, Luxe-Factor presented the author with our infamous Spotlight Questions. Here’s what Long had to say:
Luxe-Factor: Tell us about your most recent project / book.
Thomas Long:My last release was Unconventional Love in August. It’s about an interesting love triangle that develops between a man and two women. I have another [project] coming in December called The Bodymore Homicide , a novella series. That series was motivated by the high murder rates in my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.
L.F.: What do you believe makes you stand out as an author? What makes your projects stand out?
T.L.: What makes me stand out as an author is that I try to write fully developed stories that clearly give you an in depth picture of my main and secondary characters. I create consistent, conscious themes in each novel that relay a positive social message while at the same time keep the readers entertained.
L.F.: Aside from writing, what other projects or activities are you nurturing?
