Many of our greenbelts and preserves were developed to protect our natural resources, especially water and protected wildlife species. Development along such greenbelst is controlled as to not interfere with the water shed areas that funnel water into the reservoirs along the Colorado River, or as we call them the
Seven Highland Lakes.
Austin Energy offers clients the choice of selecting power from conventional or renewable sources, rebates are offered by the City of Austin for improvements such as installing a Rainwater Collection System, replacing high water use lawns with low water use varieties, and many other rebates that encourage green living.
