y l Tyler Gubsch | Tekamah, NE 1995 Summer Camper; 2000 Summer Camper; 2007 Day Camp Volunteer; 2008 Camp Counselor; 009 Leader’s in Training; 2010 Community Coordinator Lutherhaven gave me deep friendships as a camper and as a summer camp counselor. It helped shape my leadership style, accountability, and my love for ministry. The experiences I shared with the staff and campers re-invigorated my faith and my calling to be a pastor. Alli Cochran | Lansing, MI 2011-2014 Summer Staff I always tell people, “One day I left Michigan to work for this camp in Idaho… and my whole life changed.” At camp I learned to conquer my fear; I learned to be myself; I rediscovered my love for art; I learned that I belong; I lived among God’s beautiful creation; I met a new family of friends in Christ; I learned that I am one of God’s own, that I am called by name, and that He died for me. Lutherhaven has given me so many opportunities to grow. I have never felt more at home then when I am at camp. WE ARE reaching across the country. Laura Young | Seward, AK 1998-2002 Support Staff My favorite thing about camp is that it’s a rad place for kids to be kids! :) Working at Lutherhaven was a great opportunity to fall in love with being a servant, as well as living in fellowship with other Christians. “ I AM WITH YOU n AND WILL KEEP YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.” GENESIS 28:15 Ashley Sylvester | Granby, CT 2007-2008 Outdoor Education Staff; 2009 Summer Staff My LH journey started in Scotland of all places! I met a friend while studying Outdoor Education and when we returned to the states, he encouraged me to come west to work with him at Lutherhaven! I love Lutherhaven and Shoshone. They’re wonderful. I am living in Granby, CT and working as a youth group leader at a UCC church and still teaching OE and teambuilding. Kimmy Stokesbary | Atlanta, GA Adam Peters | Lincoln, NE 2014 Director of Servant Leadership Lutherhaven is a great place to be restored. Sometimes we all need to get away; to pray, to recharge, to just be. There’s no better place than LH for that! 2005 participant in Institute for Servant Leadership; 2006 support staff, counselor and peer mentor for Institute for Servant Leadership; 2007 Lutherhaven counselor; 2008 & 2010: ISA/Shoshone Program staff; 2010-2011 Year: Program Intern/LCO; 2011 & 2013 : Assistant Program Director at Shoshone; I would not be who I am, as a woman and as a pastor, were it not for Lutherhaven Ministries. In my years as a staff member I developed lasting relationships, grew in my relationship with God, learned to use the gifts I had been given, and discovered my sense of call into full-time ordained ministry. I love Lutherhaven because it accepts people where they are and walks with them one step closer to Jesus. 15
