Lutheran Church of Mahomet, The Invitation Epiphany Season 2017 | Page 3

New Sunday Night Service:

Beginning in Lent, on March 8th, we will offer a second

worship service on Sunday evenings at 7pm.

It has been a long time since the Lutheran Church of Mahomet has held a second service on Sundays. We have been poised to double our worship time for a while now, as our community overflows with passion for the Gospel and meaningful relationships.

ot only will this be another time for worship people can choose from, this worship service will look, feel, and sound different than our morning service. Worship will materialize in creative ways. We will utilize materials like water, stone, sand, flame, and smells to aid our worship. There will be less sitting and listening, and more tactile experience.

All the keys elements of worship will be preserved:

confession and forgiveness, scripture, prayer, creed, communion, blessing, and sending. You may experience these various parts in different ways, but we will still keep these components at the heart of our worship.

If you are curious about what this worship looks like, please visit us on Sunday evenings at 7pm, starting on March 5. This worship liturgy will change seasonally; especially for the Lenten season, the worship will be highly participatory but rather contemplative in posture. These worship services will allow each of us some quiet, meditative, and Christ-centered time to worship the God who gives us so much.
