Exploring A Labyrinth

On Wednesday February 8, our confirmation class will be take paint to tarp and creating a 16’-wide labyrinth for our community! Decorated with the colors of the liturgical calendar, this recycled billboard tarp will serve our community as a vehicle for prayer, meditation, and learning. So, if you see a giant forming tube wrapped in recycled billboard vinyl, you’ll know what this is all about! Please pray for us in our endeavor, and please thank a confirmation student when next you see one!

Guest Preacher: Payton Ade

Join us for worship on February 19 for a special time of prayer, scripture, and meditation. Our very own Payton Ade will be preaching! We are excited for his voice to join us from the pulpit and to hear how God is at work through Scripture.

AGC Garage Sale:

All God's Children will hold our annual Garage Sale Fundraiser on Saturday, January 28th from 8 am to 1 pm. Proceeds from the garage sale will go towards purchases for the classroom and scholarships for families in need of tuition assistance. In order to have the garage sale, we are in need of donated items to sell. If you find items you no longer need while you are cleaning or making room for new gifts, please keep us in mind. We will happily accept donations of clothes, shoes, toys, books or household items. (Sorry, we can NOT accept electronics or furniture.) If you have any questions, please contact Deanna Atteberry at 586-6147 or at [email protected]. Thank you for supporting the preschool!

AGC Enrollment:

LCM church members can register for fall enrollment at All God’s Children Preschool beginning January 16th 2017.

C-U at Home One Winter Night is a POWERFUL opportunity for you to learn more about homelessness, raise awareness for our friends without an address, and experience a bit of what it might be like to be outside, overnight, in the coldest part of a Central Illinois winter. Box dwellers commit to spending 12 hours outside in a cardboard box, along Neil Street in downtown Champaign. Box dwellers come from all walks of life, the Mayor, Police Chief, pastors, business leaders, students, grandmas and grandpas, moms and dads. Each box dweller is committed to raising at least $1,000 to help C-U at Home continue doing all we do to help our community in 2017.”

With Illinois’ budget impasse in Springfield, many services have taken hits. One of the underfunded programs in our area effects the Champaign County homeless population. C-U At Home is a local organization that “mobilizes our community to house and support the most vulnerable homeless on their journey of healing and restoration.” This organization does great work, inspires meaningful conversation, and supports many vulnerable people in our area.

Pastor Nikoli would like to represent the Lutheran Church of Mahomet as a box dweller on One Winter Night, February 3. But, he can’t do it alone. If you would like to sponsor his cardboard box, simply follow the donation link on the next page, and mark your donation for "Pastor Nikoli's One Winter Night Box"

If you yourself would like to learn more about being a box dweller, visit cuathome.us.
