Lutheran Church of Mahomet, The Invitation 2018 Easter Invitation | 页面 15

This is the night! This is our Passover with Christ from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom, from death to life. Tonight is the heart of our celebration of the Three Days and the pinnacle of the church’s year. The resurrection of Christ is proclaimed in word and sign, and we gather around a pillar of fire, hear ancient stories of our faith, welcome new sisters and brothers at the font, and share the food and drink of the promised land. Raised with Christ, we go forth into the world, aflame with the good news of the resurrection. cv Reading 7 — Ezekiel 36:24-28 Reading 1 — Genesis 1:1-2:4a Response 1 — Psalm 136:1-9, 23-26 Reading 2 — Genesis 7:1-5, 11-18; 8:6-18; 9:8-13 Response 2 — Psalm 46 Reading 8 — Ezekiel 37:1-14 Response 8 — Psalm 143 Reading 9 — Zephaniah 3:14-20 Reading 3 — Genesis 22:1-18 Response 9 — Psalm 98 Response 3 — Psalm 16 Reading 10 — Jonah 1:1–2:1 Reading 4 — Exodus 14:10-31; 15:20-21 Response 4 — Exodus 15:1b-13, 17-18 Reading 5 — Isaiah 55:1-11 Response 10 — Jonah 2:2-3 [4-6] 7-9 Reading 11 — Isaiah 61:1-4, 9-11 Response 11 — Deuteronomy 32:1-4, 7, 36a, 43a Response 5 — Isaiah 12:2-6 Reading 6 — Proverbs 8:1-8, 19-21; 9:4b-6 Response 6 — Psalm 19 Response 7 — Psalm 42-43 Reading 12 — Daniel 3:1-29 Response 12 — Song of the Three 35–65 New Testament Reading — Romans 6:3-11 Gospel — John 20:1-18 Acts 10:34-43, Luke 24:1-12 “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us re- joice and be glad in it.” God has indeed raised from the dead the one who was put to death “by hanging him on a tree.” Alleluia!
