Beyond academics, creating and maintaining an attractive, clean, and safe learning environment has always been at the forefront for all
of the schools in the Livingston Union School District. Además de académicos, creando y manteniendo un ambiento atractivo, limpio y seguro siempre ha sido una prioridad para todas las escuelas en Livingston.
Keeping Our Schools Safe
The safety of students is a high priority. The district has added additional video surveillance cameras at all sites to expand coverage and enhance campus safety. To increase communication while supervising playgrounds and in an emergency or power outages, 100 % of classrooms and school offices now have hand-held radios for direct communication.
Beginning this school year, LUSD is excited to work with an organization that will train office staff in the event of an emergency / crisis situation. Workshops on bullying, gangs and drugs will be offered to parents. The district will also continue its partnership with the Livingston Police Department to have a regular presence of police officers on campuses. This partnership has provided positive interaction between local police officers with students and staff as well as being present for rallies, assemblies, and other key activities.
Manteniendo Seguro Nuestras Escuelas
La seguridad de nuestros estudiantes es de alta prioridad para nuestras escuelas. Hemos añadido mas cámaras de video por todo el distrito para cubrir mas áreas y mejorar la seguridad. Todas nuestras clases y oficinas de las escuelas tienen radios para comunicarse directamente durante la supervisión de recreo y en caso de un emergencia o corte de electricidad.
A partir de este año escolar, el distrito estará trabajando con una agencia para entrenar a nuestro personal en caso de una emergencia o crisis. Talleres para los padres serán ofrecidos sobre las pandillas, drogas y la intimidación. El distrito también continuará su colaboración con el departamento de policía de Livingston para tener la policía presente regularmente en nuestras escuelas. Esta asociación ha proporcionado una interacción positiva entre la policía y nuestros estudiantes y personal. También participan en las actividades y eventos escolares.
New Classroom Furniture & Flooring | Muebles y Piso Nuevo para los Salones
A makeover of classroom furniture is being phased in over a three-year period. At the conclusion of the three-year replacement cycle all K-5 classrooms in need will have new furniture. All student desks, chairs, and tables as well as all teacher desks and chairs will replace furniture that is well over 25 years old. In addition, all three elementary cafeterias have new, state-of-the-art rubberized, stain resistant, noise reduction flooring that will last many years. New carpets are scheduled and installed on a routine needs bases.
Nuestro mobiliario escolar está atravesando una transformación. Este proceso se llevará a cabo durante un periodo de tres años. Al final del tercer año, todas las clases en necesidad en los grados K— 5 tendrán muebles nuevos. Los escritorios, sillas y mesas, incluyendo los escritorios de los maestros reemplazarán a los muebles que tengan más de 25 años. New Kindergarten Restroom Building at Selma Herndon
Selma Herndon currently has one restroom facility used by six kindergarten classrooms. To better accommodate the needs of students, the new restroom building will be placed in the playground area and will include eight more stalls( 4 boys and 4 girls) for students to use.
La escuela Selma Herndon solamente tiene un instalación de baños para seis clases de kínder. Una nueva instalación de baños se colocará en el área de recreo e incluirá 8 excusados más para utilizar.

LUSD’ s grounds and maintenance staff have worked diligently to reduce water usage throughout the district. Landscape water was reduced by 50 % during the summer and 40 % more during cooler months. Together, we can make a difference.
