This is the essence of lure
fishing. The thrill, the absolute
buzz of the bite is what we all live
for – and that’s no matter what
the target, no matter what its
size. It’s a point perfectly summed
up during a session that saw
the LURE team descend on a
boat marina in the middle of the
Norfolk Broads, in England.

Although plentiful, actually
finding these fish is the main
challenge. The trick as always is
to think like a predator yourself.
Food source is all important, but
with the bright sunshine piercing
through the water, so is cover.
At the near end of the spits of
land that create the bays for the
boats to moor there is in effect a
