LURE 1 | Page 50

EAPON OF CHOICE L U R E PADDLE POWER A thin, soft wrist on the tail and the triangulated shape of the paddle make for a powerful and attractive motion when the lure is retrieved or dropped through the water. MASSIVE OPTIONS With four size options and 36 colour ways to chose from you have 144 different Grass Minnows to go for. THE RIGHT SOFT The Grass Minnow body delivers a robust frame with just the right softness to provide a realistic action, a mix that will see a number of fish caught before it’s past its best. EcoGear Perch Grass minnow Like jelly babies are to sticky-fingered toddlers, so Grass Minnows are to perch. Multicoloured, wobbly, delicious looking… but that’s where the comparison ends. Where as your gelatinous confection generally just leads to a few rotten molars, the deployment of a well rigged Grass Minnow can lead to more mouth based interaction of the predator kind. Produced from high-quality soft plastic, the lure has a massively attractive ‘wiggle’ in the water to deliver both a visual and vibrational ‘lure’. This wiggle is down to the flow dynamics of the lure, which has a shape designed to produce disturbed water down its length thanks to the ridges in the main body section when it’s drawn through the water. The disturbance caused by the ridges then act on the lure’s tail, delivering plenty of movement which is increased by the extremely supple tail wrist. Formed in a tear drop or guitar plectrum-like rounded diamond, the shape of the tail adds a further unique action to the lure. Perfect for rigging in a number of ways, from standard mounting on a jig head through drop-shotting to Carolina rig arrangement they’re multi purpose. And that’s especially so when you consider that there are 36 different colour options over four different sizes. These sizes are coded as SS (28mm), S (42mm), M (64mm) and L (85mm) giving you a range of options in terms of species choice. Althoug a great lure for perch – that’s what we use them for – they will catch most predators in both fresh and salt water, so it’s well worth having a packet or two of them in your arsenal.
