About
LuminAID
Andrea Sreshta and Anna Stork invented
LuminAID’s solar lighting technology just
after the Haiti earthquake in 2010. They were
inspired to design a simple, rechargeable light
that could be cost-effectively distributed after
disasters and have been selling LuminAID
lights for the past 6 years. LuminAID’s solar
inflatable light technology is patented in
the U.S., with additional patent applications
pending worldwide. LuminAID is currently
based in Chicago. The company has won
numerous awards and has been invited to the
White House on several occasions.
LuminAID lights have been used in more
than 70 countries in the world. LuminAID
has distributed tens of thousands of lights
after some of the world’s most recent and
widespread disasters including Hurricane
Sandy, Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and
the Nepal Earthquake.
LuminAID is a woman-owned small business.
