What the pioneers had to say about the celebrations :
“ Certainly , it was an extraordinary day for me to come home to SJI as a pioneer educator in the SG50 celebrations . The vibrant sight of the assembled youths , the enchanting sounds by the talented performers and the lithe movements of the dazzling dancing boys were admirable . The memory slideshow that was so cleverly created brought back illuminating memories of noble SJI . The goody bag with the awesome and thoughtful gifts are so SJI . A congratulatory pat on the back for the SG50 Committee who had tirelessly put this special event so charmingly together . Best part of the SG 50 celebrations was coming home to SJI . May SJI continue to live her legacy and flourish . Ora et labora !”

“ I enjoyed the gathering very much because it was an opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet with the students . The musical performance was well done . The students and their teachers must have put in a lot of effort to prepare for it . On behalf of the pioneers I would like to thank the principal and school for inviting us to the function .”
Mr Foo Chee Cheng Former History teacher who taught at both
Bras Basah & Malcolm Road campuses
" I was very happy to be invited to this special event , as it was a meeting of old friends . It was a nice gathering , as we could catch up after so many years , and relive some of the fond memories of old SJI . I am thankful to be here today ."
Mr Augustine Goh Long-serving Technical staff of the Facilities Department
“ SJI holds a special place in my heart as I have spent nearly my whole life in the school , first as a student in the 1950s and returning to my Alma Mater as a Teacher , Commanding Officer of the National Cadet Corp Unit , Discipline Master and Head of Level before retiring after teaching for 42 years in SJI . Currently I am serving my second term as a member of the SJI Board of Governors . It was really a great homecoming for all of us " old folks ". Ora et Labora !”
